Elder Street 8/30/10

YO, YO, YO!!!!!!!! Hey, hey hey my players, howz it???/

It sounds like things are going pretty peachy over there in Mona town, things are rolling along here in Kaimuki. I am still amazed that all of that had actually happen about dad's work, that is such an amazing thing to witness, how blessed we are when we do what the Lord asks us to! We could labor all of our days and never pay the man upstairs back for all of the mighty miracles and for placing his hands in our paths, he truly is our loving father in heaven and so willing to give us the help we so desperately need, WHEN we need it! Isn't he just great????
Keep on keepin on, say your prayers, read the scriptures together, go to church, keep the faith... Can you imagine the blessings that will come as we strive together as a family, united in our goals anThe type of blessing that will come into our lives as we give all we can to try our hardest towards being sealed as an eternal family??? That will be an amazing day and an even more amazing transformation and ride along the way, i can't wait to see it.
Things are going okay over here, we committed Edwina to baptism 3 weeks from this upcoming saturday, but we will see how it goes, maybe say a little prayer for her, she has been taught by missionaries for 7 years!!!! She is the nicest lady ever, she has a huge testimony of the BOok of Mormon and the church, but she just can't seem to quit smoking for 3 weeks.... So we had a really spiritual lesson with Sister Hardinger, that is Tony's mother in law, and we got her to really really try and stop this saturday for at least 3 weeks so she can get baptized. I hope we can see a miracle take place with Edwina..
We invited two of our new investigators to baptism but it didn't go over so well. They basically said they would never be baptized and that all churches are good and that they don't need to go to any "one" church. We have tried our hardest to cover the apostacy and priesthood authority, but if someone doesn't want to change they won't change until they find that desire.
It has been interesting with Elder Jewkes. I haven't talked too much about him but it has been different. Somedays I don't know.. He works on his chain mesh armor suit everynight and he wears it on his head anytime he gets a chance. He refused to cut his hair and the members would yell at him and tell them to cut and still he just flat out would tell them they were dumb and that all the girls "love" his long curly hair... So we finally just busted out the scissors and chopped it off, ha ha, the zone leaders are chill, he hadn't even cut hair before but he told Jewkes that he did it all the time back home. It was so funny, he would look at all of us and shake his head and say he had no idea what he was doing but it turned out, surprisingly, pretty good.
I have been trying my hardest to get him to teach a little more and feel comfortable talking to people, but it hasn't worked out so good. He will say like three or four random sentences and then look at me and then i will have to hurry and come in and save the day in every single lesson. Ha ha, you should hear our conversations, well actually you could, Elder jewkes actually tape records every single day and every lesson, every OYM, he always has his tape recorder. He even recorded his interview with PRESIDENT!!!! Ha ha i thought that was funny, but this transfer has been good. But i can almost gaurantee we will stay here in kaimuki at least one more transfer.
But nothing to exciting. I talked to Taron Jack's sister on the phone in Hawaii.. His brother in law is from Hawaii and we stopped by one of his less active family members. I heard the name Jack and Blanding and i knew it had to be someone related to him and sure enough, it was. Taron is the kid that came to the farewell, him and Kohler Black.. IT sounded like he was doing well. YOu will have to feel me in on Kobe Richens and the boys from NOrth SUmmit?? What about Devin Holmes??? Let me know whats up... I got the package from Brenda and the money from grandma, tell them THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I really appreciate it and also everything else you all got me for the big "20", thank you..
OH and yeah about catmull. I called him the other day and he is hating life!!!! He does have a pretty hard comp, but it is about time!!! Ha Ha that kid has been blessed to have awesome companions his entire mission! Its about time he has someone that makes him find Jesus!!!! Just kidding, but he is doing good. Elder Buhrley dies this transfer in like a week!!!!!!! what the???? He was barely out a year when he was with me!! where did the time go?????
But gotta go, love ya'all take care, choose the right...... OFA ATU, elda hala
