Howdy partners!!!
So a little late getting in today, we have been all over the place for P-day. We just got back from the Dole Plantation and going through the 'Worlds Largest Maze". It was pretty fun but we have this one sister from some random island in the pacific called Cherubis i think... She is micronesian and a little crazy, she doesn't want to do anything ever but just sit home and sleep... We kept having to chase her down and make sure she was with us becuase she kept trying to run away and hide in the maze. I really feel bad for her companion, she must be going through a really hard time, it is like you have to babysit her everyday and all day.. So other than keeping a leash on that crazy microsnesian sister, things were great... I just barely got Staisha's present, it isn't much but i hope it will do.
We had a baptism on saturday for Violette Holland. It was amazing! But a little stressful at the same time... The member that has helped us fellowship with her got stuck in traffic coming back from the Temple open house and he was the one Violette wanted to have baptize her.. They gave us a call about 5 minutes before it was time to start and said that they wouldn't be there for another twenty or thirty minutes... So that wasn't very good because all of the members and other people that wanted to come were there, except for one... The other person missing was the person assigned to give the talk on baptism. So we had to buy a little time and make everyone sit down adn wait it out for about a half an hour unitil they could come.. The member showed up and then the person giving the talk but when she got here we found out that Violette and her family had not told or informed her at all about giving a talk here at the baptism.. Her face was a little nervous when we told her but she willingly accepted and said she could.. The crazy thing is that this lady was baptized about two months ago, so she was very new to the church. But she did a fantastic job and you could really feel the power of her testimony. Violette was awesome and loved every moment of it. Her non member mother came and attended so that was a start on her..
She is a little turned off towrards being taught but she has let her son and now her daughter get baptized here in a matter of months, so its just a time game with her and then i believe she will accept the lessons, feel the spirit, and in turn get baptized also with her children.. She scared us the night before the baptism though. We went to have her sign the baptism record and she was like interogating Violette on why she was getting baptized.. She kept prying and prying and every aswer Violette gave her wan't good enough. It was pretty nerve racking. But eventually after a few prayers said in my heart, she signed it.
Last night we had a pretty interesting experience. We recieved a random call about 8 or 9 o clock. It was Brother Brown and he was like 'Elders, i have an emergency.' As soon as he said that i was like oh no!!!! He said that his mother in law had just had a stroke and that there was severe internal bleeding in her brain and that the outcome was not looking very good. They had to transport her to queens hospital in about twenty minutes and we had to speed down to the hospital in Wahiahwa and giver her a blessing before it was too late becuase they would operate immediately when she arrived at queens in Honolulu.. So we sped down to where she was and the family was literally freaking out.. Sis Brown was screaming at Bro Brown for not hurrying and he was yelling back at her to be quiet and to calm down. All of the kids and grandkids were there bawling. It wasn't a very good sight. I remember thinking 'Please Brother Brown, do not make me do the sealing of the blessing.. Please, please, please.'
I really did not want to be doing something like that with death in the distance and the family there and everything, it was pretty chaotic. But thankfully, he did the sealing and it was okay.. I never ever want to see something like that agian, thats for sure... I am not sure how the lady is diong, but we will see..
Anyway i gotta go, good luck, sorry so short i love you, ofa atu, Elder Street
